The book is a struggle to get through, with the heavy vocabulary, endless numbers of examples and analogies, and oftentimes confusin|About the Author||Willem H. Vanderburg is the founding director of the Centre for Technology and Social Development and is now Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto.

Why does modern technology succeed so brilliantly in some respects and simultaneously fail in others?
